Welcome to Global Microbiome 2018
Global Microbiome is a premier event that will be attended by scientists, postdoctoral researchers and students in a broad range of research disciplines such as medicine, ecology, biotechnology, agriculture, and mine-site rehabilitation. The one-day meeting will serve as a platform for presenting state-of-the-art microbiome research as well as to encourage discussion and share knowledge about the methods and resources that researchers in these fields have in common, for example, next generation sequencing, bioinformatics and cloud computing.
This event follows on from the successful First Annual West Coast Microbiome Network (WCMN) Symposium held in Perth in March 2016. In 2017, the symposium was extended into a joint effort with the Microbiome Consortium of Western Australia (MiCWA). Together, the meeting attracted more than 120 delegates!
In 2018, we hope to encourage more microbiome researchers to share and update their latest findings; deliver technical seminars and strengthen the link between students, senior researchers and industry leaders of microbiome research in Perth.
The overarching theme for this year revolves around our view of the microbiome as globally integrated system and resonates with the One Health initiative.
The meeting will take place on 17th August 2018, in Perth at The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research encompassing research topics such as:
Mine site rehabilitation
Microbiome WGS data analyses (Potential workshop)
Technical seminars /Q&A sessions
